FUNMILAYO FOOD BANK INITIATIVE – Feed the Poor.
Our food bank initiative was designed to support the needy with food stuff in order to eradicate hunger in our society, in achieving this, the Funmilayo Memorial Charity Foundation has successfully completed two food bank initiative programmes this year, one in March 2025 and the second in April 2025.
In March, our team was on the street of Akure visiting house to house and gave out food support to about 40 people including widows and in April, It was a more bigger outreach which took place at the state library hall Akure Ondo State on 21st, this event which was specially organised for the widows began with registration and our team of volunteers were fully on ground, with the support of the state’s civil defence force to provide support in taking registrations and in making the widows happy.
It was an event that was full of joy as the people danced, rejoiced and went home with food packages and cash gift. At least, 100 widows received our food packages and cash gift, while the other 60 people received food palliatives, making a total of 160 people.
